Reason.tv headed down to the National Mall for the Reason Rally (no affiliation!) in Washington, DC. The Mar twenty-four eventuality was billed as the “largest entertainment of the physical transformation in universe history” as well as drew the multiform thousand-strong throng of damp, eager unbelievers (and the couple of protesting believers) to the National Mall.    Read a book there are plenty out there its not going to happen in 500 characters.

   Altruism is easily explained by natural selection. Human beings rely on each other if is wasn’t for our ability to have empathy to others society would not exist. The individuals that were cooperative & worked together were much more successful then those who didn’t thus a genetic tendency to “be good” was instilled in our DNA.

   This can be seen in many social animal like dolphins & chimpanzees.

   As along as you don’t infringe on others right with your beliefs I’m fine with it. However that is clearly not the case.

   Beliefs matter & religious beliefs are responsible for enormous bigotry & death in this planet. The genocides in African, bombing of abortion clinics, suicide bombers , 911, the mistreatment of women & bigotry of gays. The stoning of apostates, adulterers & homosexuals. The crusades, The Inquisition & witch hunts etc etc

   Are all motivated by faith,

   Sorry to bust your bubble, but Atheism is still a way to try to explain the universe around you. And when people start getting together and having “pride parades” and start paying for billboards and attending groups it sounds a whole lot like an organized religion to me.

   Furthermore, tumors are observable, we can see them. They are tangible parts of our world. The Christian God is not, and the only proof of his existence is a 2000 year old book full of stories that are either unobservable and untestable, or already proven to be lies. Like Adam and Eve, it has been determined through examination of worldy knowledge, that the genetic diversity we see today could not have come from two individual humans. Same goes for Noahs Ark, except an even more outlandish scale

   The religious right actually pushes its beliefs through legislation & laws that affect everyone.

   The blocking of stem cell research & the attempt to block proven science in the public classroom as an example.

   Religious institutions pay no taxes & are given special treatment in all kinds of areas. The boy scouts for example get millions in tax payer money yet openly discriminate against gays & atheists.

    Only a “fucking idiot” would preface a question about about taxes and insert “fair” into the sentence. What is fair to you? I didn’t enter into a willing agreement to fund wars, foreign aid to dictators or to “green” companies that fail. Is Obamacare an mandate or not?     Says everybody who knows anything in pretty much any field of science. Earth is 6000 years old?We know it’s not thanks to radio carbon dating. Man was created as an original creation by God?We are apes and evolved from the same ancestor as our ape brethren. Adam and Eve? It would have been impossible for the genetic diversity we see today come out of 2 human beings.(This applies to Noahs Ark as well except even on a larger scale with 2 of all animal.     By claiming to be an atheist, you actually are asserting disbelief in God, or belief their is no God (semantics). Also, your last sentence makes the very clear assertion that something, in this context, God, does not exist.

    As far as providing evidence of a negative:
    Sam goes to the doctor and says, “I have a tumor”.
    The doctor says, “You don’t have a tumor”.
    Sam says, “Prove it”.
    The doctor take his scans and finds nothing.
    The doctor shows Sam the scans.
