Yet people in the tribal jungles welcome to know about the Lord Jesus, if someone tells them, they are so welcome, they don’t have the proof you have.    Perhaps logic and reason is on the atheist’s side but what I saw in life is that those who were faithful christians were much “blessed” than those who became non-religious or were always atheists. It’s just my personal experience I know but still it’s very interesting to see that my christian relatives were much luckier. And not because society supported them more than atheists but on the contrary they were seen with suspicion in communist Hungary… Any yet…

    How is it, that Christians seem to be the only ones who make comments that belie the fact that they could not comprehend what Hitchens was saying?

    I come across this constantly with them.

    I swear, it’s like a Christian “Bell Curve”- The required brainwashing absolutely erases parts of their ability to think rationally… Absolutely.

    If there were a God, I’d have no fear as an atheist because if he truly knows all and is all loving, he would have to be appalled and disgusted by the horrific evil his followers commit every single day – raping children, lying and poisoning their minds before they are old enough to decide themselves, stealing money from their “flock”, allowing someone to be evil and throw their sins on someone else. Christianity isn’t just made up, but it is unendingly evil and immoral.

    That’s not true at all. If a religious person wants to kill someone, they’ll convince themselves that they are doing it for a just reason. The law and its enforcement is what stops people from offence. Pretty much every single man in jail will say he believes in God. I think that’s rediculous actually, there is absolutely nobody who has violent and viscious intentions and tendencies but represses them and lives well because of religion. It creates them more often than it controls them.

    So you rather we live with a lie rather than face it and evolve to the next step which is truth.
    Yes mankind has the ability to hate, but we are all also programmed with ethics, and morales to know the difference between right and wrong. We should learn to know that we are all branches on the tree of humanity, and grow together rather than apart which the media, racisim, religion all drill into our heads.

    Does Hitchens seriously think people wouldn’t invent some other reason to hate, if the world were reborn without religion? His faith in humanity would be touching if it weren’t so wrong. I’m an atheist — but based on what I have observed about humunkind in my 50 years, I think the world is better off with religion than without it. Despite the fact that religion serves as a pretext for hate, it is also true that religion is the only curb on the viciousness of many people.

    Study religion in University and get back to me. See how similiar they all are. The Egyptian religion is the oldest one, and coincedentally; Christianity (and all other religions) appears to be plagiarized from it.
    It’s ironic that over 93% of Scientists are all Atheists.

    “if anyone preaches another gospel, another way to heaven or god, let him be accursed, let him be anathema”. this isn’t verbatim, but the bible makes this point. the bible is inerrant, and since Jesus is god, so are his words. I know it sucks, but the forgiveness of jesus is the only way to be reconciled with god and not burn in hell forever.
