    Sanctions are not the cause of the deaths, Saddam could have ended them very easily and at any time he pleased. It’s true that it was a dumb idea to expect a madman like him to comply, but the deaths are still Saddam’s fault. Civilians always die in war, it happens. But where the US makes more accurate bombs to avoid having to carpet bomb cities (ie Dresden) terrorists pack bombs with nails and head to crowded markets, bus stops, schools, etc.
